To safeguard your account and to comply with the regulations of local regulators, Rain requires all customers to complete an identity verification process. This straightforward process requires a few steps and documents, all completed through our user-friendly interface on Rain’s app.
Below is a list of the documents that you will need to prepare and the steps to take in order to complete this process:
Documents
You will need two forms of original government issued identification documents.
Citizens of the GCC can upload a picture of two of any of the following documents: passport, national ID, birth certificate, family card, or driver’s license.
Residents of the GCC need to upload a picture of their passport and residency card.
Steps
As you start your application process, you will need to go through the steps below:
Verify your phone number
Start by entering your personal phone number. This is the number that we will use to send you OTPs for important transactions. After verifying your phone number, proceed to the identity verification section.
Choose your document type
At this step, you will get a list of document options to choose from. This list depends on your location and status. Select the type of government issued document you would like to submit.
Submit your documents
To submit your documents, you need to take pictures of the document using your phone camera. Take clear, high quality photos of your original documents. Ensure there is no blur or glare on the images.
Make sure you take a picture of the original document. Scans are not accepted.
Complete video verification
After submitting your documents, you will proceed to the next page in the verification process, in which you need to complete a video verification. Follow the instructions on the screen to record the video and submit your application for review.
Processing time
Once your application is submitted, it takes up to 24 hours for Rain to review your application. You will receive an email notification once your account is approved.
